What Is a Full-Broadcast Epoxy Flake Floor?

An epoxy flake floor (sometimes called a chip or fleck system) is a multi-layer coating: a moisture-blocking epoxy base coat, a full broadcast of vinyl flakes thrown to complete coverage — so no bare epoxy shows through — and a clear polyaspartic topcoat that locks everything in. The result looks like granite, hides dirt and dust between cleanings, and adds slip resistance exactly where Colorado garages need it: under wet, salty winter tires.

"Full broadcast" is the phrase that matters. Budget installers scatter a light dusting of flakes over colored epoxy and call it done. We broadcast flake to rejection — the surface literally can't hold any more — which produces a thicker, more uniform, more durable wear layer. It's the difference between a floor that still looks new after ten winters and one that shows tire wear paths in two.
